Description: Tree up to 12m. with a rounded or flat-topped crown. Bark greyish or brown. Twigs pendulous, often almost reaching the ground and golden-green, hairy at first but soon hairless. Leaves alternate, long and very narrow, the margins with very small, even teeth, bright green above, bluish beneath and hairy at first but soon become hairless. Catkins 3-4cm long, appearing with the leaves, on shaggily hairy stalks. Male and female flowers are borne on different trees. Seeds silky-plumed.
Comments: Most trees of this hybrid species are male.
