Description: Tree up to 14m with a dense, ovoid crown. Leaves alternate, the lower part of the blade pinnately divided into 1 to 4 pairs of toothed leaflets, the upper part lobed and toothed but not divided into separate leaflets, glossy green above, thinly white hairy beneath. White flowers numerous, in branched clusters with hairy stalks. Ripe fruits 10-12mm diameter, globose, hairy at the tip, brownish-red.
Comments: This is a natural hybrid between rowan and whitebeam.
