Meeting of the Nordic Lichen Society 2009

Nordic Lichen Society (NLS) is an organization that promotes lichenological interests and investigation in the Nordic countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland). The meetings/workshops of NLS take place in every second year. The 2009 meeting occured between July 19 up to July 24, 2009 in Iceland, Snäfellsnes. About 30 lichenologists attended the meeting from 10 countries (Czeck Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden). During the meeting, collection of lichens was followed by the presentations on recent lichenological activities and research projects. Tiina Randlane and Andres Saag (UT) gave a talk entitled "Interactive Keys for identification of lichens - a new approach" . The talk presented an introduction of the K2N project; comparison of traditional and interactive keys plus demonstration of some interactive identification keys of lichens.
