The co-ordinator of KeyToNature Prof. Pier Luigi Nimis has been invited to give a talk on the State of the art in Biodiversity Informatics in Italy, on 22nd of July. The presentation will take place in the framework of the scientific event entitled the DNA Barcode - A key project for the molecular biodiversity studies and applications. The two-days event is organised by the National Research Council (CNR).


The event aims to single out common goals and problems related to the international DNA Barcode project which is one of the most important initiative within the field of molecular biodiversity. The event will also discuss issues related to the establishment of an Italian network: Barcode Of Life.


During the conference the following thematic will be discussed:


1. Information on the ongoing EU and international initiatives;

2. State of the Art in Italy;

3. Cataloguing of resources available in Italy (laboratory, skills, collections and other) and their integration;

4. Future possible common projects.
