IZ PRAKSE V PRAKSO - PROGRAMME OF THE SEMINAR AND PRACTICAL WORKSHOPS
PMSL delegate (Ms. Irena Kodele Krasna) has been invited to give a talk on K2N experience, tools and project goals in the framework of the workshop entitled IZ PRAKSE V PRAKSO organised by the UMMI association http://www.ummi.net/.
PURPOSE OF THE SEMINAR: To get to know the practical work of mentors/creators who have been holding successful research/innovation camps for gifted students of primary and secondary schools as well as universities, in Slovenia, Croatian Istria, neighbouring Italy and elsewhere. Our invaluable treasure – practical ideas and authentic work – will be substantiated by theoretical foundations offered by experts from various fields. The seminar will be aimed at reflection and formation of new ideas in different spheres of knowledge capable of enriching your professional and personal growth.
WHO IS IT INTENDED FOR? The seminar is intended for primary and secondary school teachers, other professional support staff in primary and secondary schools as well as students who wish to learn about new findings and ideas from practitioners and not only theoreticians, and do not shy away from searching for the creator within themselves.
WHEN? The seminar will be held from Thursday, 19th March, through Saturday, 21st March 2009.
WHERE? At the BOR Hotel – The Youth Health and Holiday Centre Debeli rtič, Jadranska cesta 73, Ankaran.
The workshops will also be held in open nature – against the murmur of the sea and pine trees.

HOW? The work will be organised in the form of plenary lectures and rich practical in-field workshops related to humanities, natural sciences and arts.
LECTURERS:
The lectures will be delivered by select experts:
- Mirko Zorman, MA, the national coordinator of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation (2009) in Slovenia will present the European guidelines for the year dedicated to creativity and innovation;
- Aleksander Zadel, PhD, from the C.A.R. Institute for personal development will deliver a lecture on what we can do for our children in addition to changing the endings of well-known Slovene fairy-tales;
- Nada Trunk Širca, PhD, from the Euro-Mediterranean University, and Lina Vidic from the Koper Faculty of Management will present some innovative approaches to and developing creativity at work;
- Claudio Battelli, MSc, from the Koper Faculty of Education, will engage the participants on the topic of research as a multilateral activity;
- Peter Fatur, MSc, from the Koper Faculty of Management will present the importance and ways of developing creativity in business organisations and emphasise the significance of innovation in the field of economy;
- Korado Korlević, a renowned Croatian astronomer will hold a lecture on the numerous innovative projects conducted at the Science and Education Centre of Višnjan;
- Mojca Juriševič, PhD, from the Ljubljana Faculty of Education will talk about the learning (motivational) needs of gifted students from the viewpoint of a socio-cultural approach to learning and teaching;
- and many others who will shed light on creativity and innovation from various points of view. The practical part of the seminar will be led by qualified mentors from various scientific fields with rich experience in holding research and creative workshops for gifted children.
BOARD AND ACCOMMODATION: The meals and accommodation can be booked at the Bor Hotel in the Youth Health and Holiday Centre Debeli rtič. The acceptance of board and accommodation (full board) booking is guaranteed until 15th February 2009.

The seminar fee includes: organisation and carrying out of the seminar, printed material, refreshments during breaks, in-field work, two books: Na valovih ustvarjalnosti (Riding the Creativity Wave) and Dragonja v(B)Istri (The Dragonja in Bright Istria), a coastal trip, social and cultural programmes.
