Adapted for the use in primary school.

2 Identification tools

Dryades identification key especially developed for primary schools in region of Franconia, Germany. For primary schools the sample is usually less than 50 species.

4 Scenario

1. Teachers contacts local KeytoNature partner
2. Local KeytoNature partner provides a list of organisms (e.g. trees and shrubs of the hedge), PDAs and Smartphones with internet connection, pedagogical support material
3. Teachers go on excursion with their Classes
4. Classes are divided into small groups of pupils who identify together the species of hedges based on the key on the PDA
5. Pupils take photos from the different trees and shrubs found
6. After the excursions, the photos can be uploaded on the Key2Nature website
7. The best photos are exceled and may be added to the official key
8. Teachers evaluate the key after the excursion to the purpose of continous improvement

5 Background information

It is essential to have basic knowledge on identification and identification characters. The KeytoNature experts have developed several tools for pedagicial support:
