Europeana v1.0 plenary meeting
Amsterdam, 2009-09-14/15
Cooperation of Europeana with Key to Nature
Following the Kick off Meeting of the BHL Project, dr G. Hagedorn (JKI) established contact with Dr. Lizzy Komen Project Coordinator of Europeana/The European Library.
The European Digital Library is interested in cooperation between Key to Nature and Europeana to share the vision of a European Digital Library and in order to be part of it as content provider.
In particular KeyToNature has been contacted for joining the thematic network as a Project Contributor. A project member is invited to the Europeana v1.0 plenary meeting in September 14-15 in The Hague, Amsterdam; P. Schalk will join the meeting. The Thematic Network is the core of the Europeana v1.0 project which is funded under the European Commission’s eContentPlus programme.
Advantages of being a partner include:
- The opportunity to bring K2N content into association with related material across Europe, which adds value for our users, for a wider European public and for the education, research and scholarly communities.
- Engagement and the exchange of knowledge with a network of experts in Europe and beyond who are dedicated to making cultural heritage content interoperable, addressing issues around IPR, technology, metadata, standards and the semantic web.
- Reinforcing the relevance of cultural heritage organisations to new generations of web users who have increasingly high expectations of access and interoperability.
- benefit from the wider networks and contact with others experiencing similar issues to ourselves.
