Acer cappadocicum

Maple family Aceraceae

Origin: Asia (Turkey to Iran)

Description: Up to 25m, the crown ovoid when young, becoming rounded with age. Leaves opposite, palmately 5- to 7-lobed, the lobes roughly triangular, entire, with a slender, drawn-out apex. Flowers yellow, appearing after the leaves, in erect clusters. Fruits 10mm, paired, winged, the wings making an obtuse angle.

Fruits have wings making a wide angle.

Comments: Cultivars with different colours of foliage, especially reddish and gold leaves, have been developed.
